THE FAQ

What is your style/approach to photography?

First and foremost, it is always imperative to me to capture the true essence of whoever is in front of my lens. I would consider my style primarily documentary filled with candid photos and real moments. I also like to include editorial elements with portraits. I photograph with intentionality. I understand that each person and couple is unique, and I work hard to bring your story to life in a way that best represents you. I pay attention to the unique personalities and dynamics of each couple I work with, which ultimately influences my artistic eye and the overall vibe and energy of the photos. I always aim for authenticity, sincerity, and fun! I love natural light, deep tones, movement, vibrant colors, and images that evoke emotion.

Is there a retainer? A contract?

Yes, a contract must always be signed before we can work together. I do not require retainers for smaller portrait sessions. However, I require them for weddings and events with more than 3 hours of coverage.

How do we get our photos?

I operate fully on digital galleries. Once your photos are edited and ready to be sent out they will be uploaded to a private online gallery which will be emailed out to you.

Whats your turn around time?

For any type of portrait or commercial work, it is a minimum of 2- 3 weeks. For larger gatherings such as weddings, my turnaround is usually 6- 8 weeks.

What happens to the photos that we don’t get?

I am a strong believer that the photos taken by a photographer at a session/event should be seen and loved. I don’t go through the photos that I’ve shot, choose the top 500 and a call it a day, I provide you with every single photo I take that is worth delivering (every photo that is well exposed, non-duplicate and, of course, flattering). I cull on camera throughout the day/session, and while there are always a few photos that (for one reason or another) don’t cut once I see them full size on the computer, I don’t withhold photos for no reason.

Do you travel?

I am definitely willing to travel. I am however in school so my traveling ability is limited during certain months.

Can you help us with the day of planning for our wedding?

Most definitely. I always set up a meeting with the couple a few months prior to start the conversation around the flow of the day. I understand that there is a lot of factors that go into making your day special, my goal is to assist you in having the best order of events with photography that allows you to have the best day ever.

Can we order prints from you?

You have full printing rights for all the images in your final gallery, and you may choose whatever printing vendor you’d like. I currently do not offer printing services but I highly recommend Miller’s Professional Imaging or Bay Photo Lab.

How long have you been doing this?

Close to 13 years now. It all started during a photography elective clas, and has been a love affair since.

How do we book you?

The easiest way to get in touch with me is by shooting me a message via my website or a dm on Instagram :) I usually respond within 1-2 business days.

How many photos do we get?

A lot. However, the number of photos received depends on a variety of factors, such as time spent shooting and cooperation. You can expect about 70-100 final images per hour of shooting.

Do you provide retouching, color adjustment, or other corrective services?

Every photo you receive will be fully edited to the extent that you see on my website. This includes tone and white balance adjustment, exposure adjustment, cropping and straightening of the images, black and white conversion (when appropriate), and sharpening. Skin softening/retouching will always be done on you and your partner. However, I don’t (by default) edit out moles, freckles, scars, etc., as they are permanent markings on your face. If you wish to have anything like that removed, please let me know before the editing process.

How far out do you book?

It depends on the season. I always encourage clients to get in touch sooner than later to secure a date for their session or event. I do not hold dates tentatively, they are on a first-come first-serve basis.

What should we wear?

What you feel most comfortable in! There can be so much pressure around getting the fit just right, but I often encourage Clients to wear what they feel their best selves in. If that is a dress or a pantsuit then rock it. I do love helping Clients with outfit planning so please reach out if you are feeling lost!

Will our photos be in color, black and white, or a mix?

Typically, you should expect your gallery to contain 20%-30% black and white images, depending on the wedding. Some days (or parts of the day) may lend themselves better to black-and-white conversion. If you have an inclination one way or the other, I’m happy to edit to suit your preference.

Will you be posting images of our wedding on your website, Instagram, etc.?

Yes, I may share some of your images in my portfolio or on social media. If this is an issue, please let me know when you book.
